Tuscany Ballooning

Honestly this is the best panorama of Tuscany I have ever seen.

I am not saying this because I am in a collaboration, but because it comes out of this experience which was my very first one on a balloon.

When I was up there, floating over vineyards, I wished it could never end.

You might know that I also skydived in Florence, but an activity as a such is more for the adrenaline and body related. While here it is 100% enjoying the sight, the morning view and starting the day in a great way. It is a refined feeling, that one to be floating over lands. The best part is that you can see everything so close and clear. It’s like having wings, and the morning sun and silence complete it.

Peacefull observer of sunrise and lands waking up. Counting the grapes in the vineyards; saying hi to the animals running down below, having sneak peak in farms and villa like only a bird would do.

It is a quiete magic, gently speaking to your senses.

How It Works

Departure time

You will need to wake up pretty early in the morning. Takeoff is just before sunrise so meeting time will vary as the season changes.

Flights are only one a day and early for safety reasons, Tuscany Ballooning is very serious about their safety procedures and will fly only when conditions are perfect.

Waking up early has never been my thing, but this is absolutely worth it!

How to get there

The meeting point is in the country side in the chianti area near San Casciano Val di Pesa. It is 20 minutes drive from Florence. There are no bussed going there, or lets say no bus service you can really rely on so early in the morning. So if you are based in Florence, Tuscany Ballooning can arrange a transfer service. Or you could rent a car for the day and keep exploring Chianti for the coming hours.

 Duration of the experience

The flight durations is approximately 1 hour, this depends on wind conditions and is at the pilots discretion.

The whole experience might take approx 2-3 hours.

Final surprise

When you have landed, and are safely back on the ground, they welcome you with a country nic serving the amazing cheeses and olive oil from their own family farm 'Corzano e Paterno' together with local Tuscan products and Prosecco!

Not later than 10:00 in the morning you will already have a full belly and full eyes, ready to rock the day with the brightest start!

This was one of the best ways I have ever experienced Tuscany's landscape and I recommend it 100%!

Info and Contacts

Prices for a standard flight is €250 per person all included. Trasportation from Florence is optional and it costs around €100.

Tuscany Ballooning flies all year round and I suggest you to book in advance to be sure you get your spot!

A short tale of my first dinner in the oldest restaurant in Florence: Ristorante Paoli.

The place is opened since 1827 and it belongs to Florence's history, witnessed by the famous Book of the Guests where all costumers of 2 centuries left their reviews.

Right into the historical city center and with a high quality and typical Florentine cuisine. Don't miss the chance to have dinner at Paoli's when in Florence!
